The second day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship was highlighted by three program record-breaking performances for the University of Minnesota Duluth.

In hammer throw, UMD senior Eli Bicek ended the day with a 60.50m throw. Not only was it a personal best performance, Bicek broke the nine-year-old UMD record of 58.27m. He also topped the podium and set the nineteenth best time in all of NCAA DII for this season.Â

Senior Jacqi Rae set the day's second program record in shot put, throwing a personal best 13.96m. She placed second, earning eight points for UMD.

On the track, Brady Johnson set a third school record in the 200m dash prelims. He set the sixth fastest time, but qualified in the seventh out of nine spots. Tomorrow, Johnson will compete in the finals at 3:25 p.m.

Other notable finishes included Lucas Selman placing third in the 3000m steeplechase, running it in 9:31.78. Savannah Schley out-qualified the entire field in the the 800m prelims, with a 2:13.33 run. She will run in the finals at 2:45 p.m. tomorrow. Nick Jacobson qualified third in the men's 1500m prelims, running the second fastest time. He'll run again at 1:40 p.m. In the 400m hurdles, Megan Gilles qualified fourth with a 1:03.44. Her heat is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.Â

At the end of day two, the men's team sits in third place with twenty nine points through eight events. Going into the final day of competition, the men are only two points behind Wayne State College in second place. Through seven events, the women's team has sixteen points, tying Northern State University for seventh place.

Tomorrow, Bulldogs will compete in eighteen different events, starting at 11 a.m.Â
