University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey alum Alexander Sisto passed away last Monday at the age of 89.
Sisto played for the Bulldogs from 1953 through 1957, when the center was named a team captain and was a part of three UMD MIAC regular season titles in 1953-54. 1955-56 and 1956-57. A native of Duluth, Minn. and Denfeld High School graduate and standout hockey player, Sisto compiled 30 goals and 43 assists over his Bulldog career for a total of 73 points. Sisto graduated from UMD with a Bachelor of Education in 1957 and a Master of Education from the University of Superior Wisconsin in 1959.
SIsto was a long-time teacher in the Duluth Public Schools for 37 years and was the Morgan Park High School head coach for 17 seasons.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 with a visitation beginning at 2:00 PM followed by the service beginning at 3:00 PM at The Cremation Society of Minnesota Duluth Chapel, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN 55807.
