Last Time Out
The Bulldogs sought out their first game on the road this weekend, falling to fellow NSIC program Northern State in a non-conference matchup.
UMD put into action a much more offensive game plan in their 0-2 loss to the Wolves, outshooting NSU 12 shots to 10 throughout Sunday's matchup. However, 16 fouls and an early game yellow card would play a major role in the Bulldogs inability to convert on their offensive pressure.
Scouting Report - St. Cloud State
The St. Cloud State University Huskies are off to another winning season so far, winning three straight against Northern Michigan, Roosevelt University, and UW Parkside after losing their season opener to Michigan Tech.
The Bulldogs went head to head with St. Cloud State three different times in 2023, twice early in the regular season losing 0-2 and 1-2 and in the opening round of the NSIC tournament losing 0-1.
UMD is 17-15-8 against the Huskies in program history, and 3-8-2 against SCSU since 2013. The Huskies will look to continue their win streak as the reigning NSIC regular season champs, while the Bulldogs will look to earn their first victory against them since 2017.
Scouting Report - UM Crookston
The University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles are also still in search of their first win of the 2024 season, opening their schedule with a pair of non-conference losses to Lincoln University of Missouri and University of Nebraska at Kearney before bringing Black Hills State University to a 0-0 draw.
The Bulldogs had a record breaking 5-0 win over the Golden Eagles in 2023, with Anna Tobias scoring three goals in just 1:09 to break the NCAA Division II record for fastest hat trick.
UMD is 19-1-1 against UMD in program history, and 8-1-1 against the Golden Eagles since 2013. Both of these teams will be looking towards this matchup as a sort of redemption game to bring their 2024 season back on track.
Looking Ahead
Bulldog Soccer will get its first full weekend road slate of the season with matchups against the Wayne State College Wildcats and the Augustana University Vikings. The match against the Wildcats on Friday, Sept. 27, is currently scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM.
