The University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball team is ready to roll for the 2024-25 season, with a pair of local exhibitions and a Oklahoma road trip setting them up for an early start to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
The Bulldogs will open up the year with a pair of preseason exhibitions against some familiar opponents. They look to welcome Lakehead University yet again, the same team they faced to open last season's schedule, and our neighbors from across the road, The College of St. Scholastica.
An early November road trip to Oklahoma will have UMD face off against Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southeastern Oklahoma State, a pair of teams from the Great American Conference, to open up the regular season. The Bulldogs will welcome a trio of non-conference matchups with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Northern Michigan, and Michigan Tech to Romano Gymnasium before opening up their run through the NSIC.
A shot at Minnesota State University Mankato (11/26), the reigning NCAA DII national champions, in Romano will be the Bulldogs' first conference matchup in late November. UMD will find themselves face to face with Concordia St. Paul (12/21) in late December, and will have a chance at redemption against the University of Mary (1/24) for their loss in the semifinals of the 2023-24 NSIC tournament.
Women's basketball closed out the 2023-24 season last year with a 19-10 overall record and 14-8 conference record.
