Behind a four-goal second period offensive burst, No. 18/19 Colorado College offensively overwhelmed the University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey team 7-2 inside Ed Robson Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The Tigers snapped UMD's two-game winning streak and pulled themselves out of a five-game losing streak.

CC got a goal from Noah Laba in every period for a hat trick, and the Tigers bookended their four score second period with two goals in the first period and Laba's third in the final stanza.

Freshman defenseman Ty Hanson banged in a shorthanded rebound from Zam Plante at 16:44 of the second period to make it a 5-1 skate, but just 14 seconds later, CC's Stanley Cooley pushed the Bulldog deficit back to five goals.

On the power play 8:42 into the third period, rookie forward Callum Arnott tipped in a Aaron Pionk shot from the point to get UMD's second goal on the board, but the Tigers held on to their five-goal lead for the 7-2 final.
