The University of Minnesota Duluth men's basketball team collected their sixth straight win tonight while on the road in North Dakota, taking down the University of Mary Marauders 70-52 with the help of 10 rebounds from Nick Katona and nine from Austin Andrews.

After falling behind 3-0, UMD went on an 8-0 run with 19:21 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Charlie Katona, to take an 8-3 lead. The Bulldogs added three points to that lead by the end of the period, out-scoring the Marauders 27-24 throughout the rest of the half, and entered the halftime break with a 35-27 advantage. UMD capitalized on 10 UM turnovers in the period, turning them into 13 points on the other end of the floor.
The Bulldogs kept their lead intact to open the second half before collecting nine unanswered points, finished off by a Charlie Katona layup, to grow the lead to 46-31 with 16:07 to go in the contest. The Bulldogs continued to expand the margin and coasted the rest of the way for the 70-52 win. UMD shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting five shots from deep to score 15 of its 35 points.
Bulldog Notes vs. UM
Katona and Andrews' fantastic rebounding performances led the Bulldogs in the contest. Katona tacked on six points and two steals and Andrews added five points and four assists. Charlie Katona also helped out with a game high 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.
UMD out-rebounded the Marauders 47-33, led by Nick Katona's 10 boards. The Bulldogs also collected 14 offensive rebounds that converted into 10 second chance points.
The UMD defense caused its share of mistakes throughout the game as well, forcing 14 Marauder turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 18 points on the offensive end of the floor. Charlie Katona's three steals led the way individually for the Bulldogs.

Bulldog men's basketball (13-5, 8-4) will make a stop in Minot tomorrow to close out the weekend against the No.22 ranked Minot State University Beavers. Tip-off against the Beavers is currently scheduled for 3:30 PM.
