UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition
Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community.Â
One day after being named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Goaltender of the Month, University of Minnesota Duluth sophomore goaltender Eve Gascon has been selected the Hockey Commissioners Association Co-Goaltender of the Month for December.
After helping the Bulldogs pick up five points from then No. 8 St. Cloud State University, Gascon, a native of Mascouche, Quebec single-handily secured an extra WCHA point for UMD in game one with three shootout saves against Huskies in addition to 27 stops over the course of the game. Gascon was massive in the battle of top--8 teams, and averaged 24.50 saves in each game after she put up 27 Saturday, and she had the highest saves percentage among goaltenders that faced 40 or more shots over a series on the weekend in the entire conference.
Gascon, who spent time with Canada's National Women's Development Team as part of the Women's Euro Hockey Tour from Dec. 11-15 in Tampere, Finland, and picked up a win with the Bulldogs yesterday against Syracuse University in their 2025 home opener.
