UMD Softball Signs Six to 2026 Class

The University of Minnesota Duluth softball team has signed six recruits to the 2026 incoming class. The 2026 class features six additions who will solidify Bulldog pitching and lend athleticism and potent offensive tools to the roster for years to come. This group projects to excel on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.

Cora Jahimiak:
A long, athletic pitcher, Cora spins the ball with high velocity and unique movement patterns that make her tough to hit. Cora is also a fiery competitor who loves taking the ball in high-pressure situations - she relishes the head-to-head battle with hitters. An All-conference pitcher at powerhouse Muskego High School and an ace for her Wisconsin Blizzard team, Cora hungers to compete and drives to excel in all aspects of school life. With her outstanding work ethic, she promises to make her mark on the field and in the classroom. With tall, twitchy athleticism, Cora holds herself to high standards in all she does, and she will be a force in the circle for the Bulldogs for years to come.

Maddy Hoenig:
With elite bat-to-ball skills, Maddy Hoenig has set offensive records at Beloit Turner and hit in the heart of a potent Wisconsin Lightning lineup for years. She is a classic doubles hitter who promises to provide real punch to the Bulldog offense.  A versatile catcher/middle infielder, Maddy has a quick release and controls the running game well with her smooth athleticism. Above all, Maddy is a giver. Her coaches and teammates rave about her work ethic and team-first approach. She fits the Bulldog culture perfectly with a fierce commitment and generous spirit.

Addy Wallschlaeger:
Addy has been a force for Spectrum High School, leading her team to a state appearance last year. She has also rewritten the record books there as a pitcher and hitter, at one point pitching 26 games without giving up an earned run. Addy is a tremendous athlete and will bring to the Bulldog line-up power pitching, a powerful bat, and dynamic speed in the outfield. Kind and compassionate off the field, once she crosses the lines, she competes and holds herself to the highest standards on the field or in the classroom. As an aspiring doctor, she will major in Biology at UMD.

Lilly Martin:
A rising star in Minnesota softball ranks, Lilly has marked herself over the last two years as a power pitcher with elite riseball spin. Exceptionally poised in the heat of the biggest games, Lilly loves to take the ball in pressure moments, and she competes with a cool intensity every pitch. Over the last two seasons, she has helped lead White Bear Lake to the State High School semifinals and led her Midwest Speed 16u team to consecutive top 10 finishes in the HFL Alliance Championships. She is an exceptional teammate - kind and generous.

Remi Rudquist:
Rudquist is an exciting addition to the Bulldog roster. A dynamic and toolsy catcher/shortstop, Remi flashes elite arm strength and a powerful bat. What stands out most in her game, however, is her energy and leadership: Remi exudes a passion for softball and elevates all around her through her infectious joy in playing the game. A standout behind the plate for Bloomington Jefferson and the Minnesota A's, Remi brings an athleticism and love of the game that mark her as a perfect fit for the Bulldog culture.

An explosive player, Marni spins the ball on four planes and brings speed and athleticism to the circle for the Bulldogs. She loves to compete and immerses herself completely in her development and in team life. With her exceptional work ethic and fast-twitch athleticism, Marni is poised to excel in Duluth.
