UMD Baseball Set to Make 2025 Home Debut this Week Against St Cloud State and Minot State

The University of Minnesota Duluth baseball team is set to make their 2025 home debut this week, hosting the St. Cloud State University Huskies for a doubleheader at the NBC Sports Complex at Superior High School on Wednesday, Apr. 16, starting at 10:00 AM and the Minot State University Beavers for a three game series at Wade Stadium starting on Friday, Apr. 18, at 1:30 PM.

 

Last Time Out

 

The Bulldogs closed out a five game road trip last weekend, splitting a doubleheader with the Bemidjis State University Beavers and recording a 1-2 record throughout a three game series against the Northern State University Wolves.

 

Bulldog baseball now sits at a 15-19 overall record and a 11-14 conference record throughout the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), keeping them at tenth overall in the conference standings.

Scouting Report - St. Cloud State University 

 

The St. Cloud State University Huskies are 19-16 overall and 15-10 against NSIC opponents throughout the 2025 season, most recently coming off a 13-10 victory over the University of Mary Marauders.

 

The Bulldogs are 5-19 against the Huskies since 2013, defeating SCSU 14-13 in their most recent matchup on the road last season. UMD holds a 3-5 home record, 2-6 away record, and 0-8 neutral site record against St. Cloud, with their largest margin of victory sitting at four runs (7-3, Apr. 2017).

 

The Huskies' offense is currently led by senior infielder #18 Ethan Navratil, who is posting a .372 average over 129 at bats and seven home runs this season.

 

Scouting Report - Minot State University

 

The Minot State University Beavers are 13-20 overall and 8-17 against NSIC opponents throughout the 2025 season, most recently coming off a 4-10 loss to the University of Sioux Falls Cougars.

 

The Bulldogs are 19-15 against the Beavers since 2013, defeating MSU 9-2 in their most recent matchup on the road last season. UMD holds a 9-3 home record, 7-7 away record, and a 3-5 neutral site record against Minot State, with their largest margin of victory sitting at 15 runs (21-6, Apr. 2016).

 

The Beavers' offense is currently led by senior outfielder #22 Connor Hill, who is posting a .357 average over 98 at bats and four home runs this season.

Bulldog baseball will make a midweek stop in Winona next week for a doubleheader with the Winona State University Warriors before returning home for a three game home series with the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles. First pitch against the Warriors is currently set for Wednesday, Apr. 23, at 1:30 PM.
