The University of Minnesota Duluth baseball team has announced their team captains for the 2026 season, adding Troy Lynch to the current leadership group of Gabe Richardson, Michael Gabbard, and Henry Wilkinson.

Lynch tallied a standout year from the plate in his 51 total appearances, posting a .378 batting average while leading the team in total hits (65), runs batted in (51), total bases (106), and on base plus slugging (1.102). Lynch was also tied for the lead amongst the Bulldogs for total home runs this season (9) while collecting a .983 fielding percentage on 301 total defensive chances. His efforts on both sides of the field earned him NSIC All Conference Second Team honors this season, his first all conference honors of his career.

Richardson started in all 52 of his appearances for Bulldog baseball this season, leading the team in total at bats with 177. The hot corner specialist tallied a .277 average with 29 runs and 32 runs batted in, including eight doubles and three home runs. Richardson also held strong in the field, posting a .983 fielding percentage on 121 total defensive chances.

Gabbard ended his 2025 campaign with 25 total appearances for the Bulldogs, collecting a .255 batting average with 14 total hits and eight runs batted in. The veteran catcher was able to tally 18 runs and 20 total bases, while also tallying a .966 fielding percentage on 89 total defensive chances.

Wilkinson made 12 total appearances on the mound this season, tallying a 5-2 record for the Bulldog pitching staff in 2025. The starting ace posted a 4.14 earned run average over 71.2 innings pitched with 42 total strikeouts, while also holding opposing hitters to a .281 batting average.

Bulldog baseball closed out the 2025 season with a 26-27 overall record, falling to the University of Sioux Falls Cougars in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) tournament.
