The impressive career of University of Minnesota Duluth senior mid distance runner Savannah Schley came to a close Friday night in Pueblo, Colo. in the NCAA DIvision II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The Loyal, Wis. native finished 21st overall in the 800 meter prelims with a time of 2:14.17 and ran her first 400 meters in a time of 1:00.38.
Schley became the fifth Bulldog mid-distance runner in the past decade to compete in an NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship after she ran the fourth fastest time in the Central Region (and the 22nd fastest in the NCAA) and earned a second place finish at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Schley ran a 2:08:57 -- a personal record in the race – that earned her one final race Friday.
