The University of Minnesota Duluth baseball team begins their postseason run this week, starting with an opening round matchup against the Wayne State College Wildcats at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) tournament on Wednesday, May 7, at 6:00 PM.

Last Time Out

The Bulldogs closed out their 2025 regular season last week, sweeping the Concordia St Paul Golden Bears in a mid-week doubleheader and tallying a 2-1 series win over the University of Mary Marauders.

UMD finishes the regular season with a 25-25 overall record and a 21-19 conference record, securing the sixth seed for the upcoming conference tournament.

NSIC Tournament

The conference tournament invites the top eight teams after regular season play to participate in a double elimination tournament, beginning with opening round matchups on Wednesday, May 7. With their strong 4-1 record throughout the final week of the regular season, the Bulldogs earned their first tournament appearance since 2022 when they also entered the conference tournament as the sixth seed.

Scouting Report - Wayne State College

The Wayne State College Wildcats posted a 29-20 overall record and a 25-15 conference record throughout the 2025 regular season, most recently taking down the Winona State University Warriors in their season finale.

The Bulldogs are 13-22 against the Wildcats since 2013, falling 8-16 in their most recent matchup earlier this season. UMD holds a 5-8 home record, 4-13 away record, and a 4-1 neutral site record against WSC, with their largest margin of victory sitting at six runs (7-1, Apr. 2025).
