University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey players
Braden Fischer and
Trevor Stachowiak have been named American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholars for maintaining at least 3.75 GPA in each semester of the season. In addition to their academic achievements, players had to appear in at least 40% of their team's games, with an exception for injured players and back-up goaltenders.
Fischer, a sophomore forward this past season, was also named a both a 2024-25 NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete, as well as to the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team -- both repeat honors for the Winnipeg, Manitoba native. Stachowiak, from Glencoe, Illinois, suffered a season-sending injury early in the fall, and will learn if he makes both NCHC Academic Teams as a freshman in the coming weeks.
This is just the ninth time the ACHA has awarded an academic All-American honor.
