Kleber and Plante Named to U.S. Roster for World Junior Summer Showcase

University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey sophomores Adam Kleber and Max Plante are two of 42 players that have been invited to participate in the 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase, set for July 25-Aug. 2 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.

The World Junior Summer Showcase, which will also include players from Canada, Finland and Sweden, serves as an evaluation for athletes seeking to make their respective national teams for the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship, which will be held Dec. 26, 2025, through Jan. 5, 2026, in Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. The week-long World Junior Summer Showcase will include 11 international games.

Kleber, a defenseman from Chaska, Minn. and Plante, a forward from Hermantown, Minn. are two of nine players who were invited and were part of the gold medal-winning 2025 U.S. National Junior Team this past winter.

Plante, who skated in the Detroit Red Wings 2025 Development Camp recently, was named to the 2024-25 NCHC All-Rookie Team this past season after posting 28 points (9g, 19a) in just 23 games -- a 1.21 points per game average. Kleber, who took part in the Buffalo Sabres 2025 Development Camp, skated in 33 games for the Bulldogs last season, recording two goals and adding three assists for five points.
