The University of Minnesota Duluth soccer team was shutout by Augustana University 3-0 Sunday afternoon on Morstad Field in Sioux Falls, SD. The loss holds the Bulldogs to just a single point earned in Northern Sun Intercollegiate play on the weekend.
Madelyn White had a hat trick for the Vikings, with her first goal netted just 15:12 into the first half. White added goals in the 86th minute and again at 89:26 to ice the game for Augustana (5-0-2, 3-0-1).
The Vikings landed six shots on goal compared to just one by the Bulldogs, but UMD attempted six corner kicks to Augustana's five.
Kaycee Chavez had three saves for UMD.
The Bulldogs (3-2-2, 2-1-1) will return home to Griggs Field next to face Minot State University next Friday at 6:00 p.m.
