The University of Minnesota Duluth head football coach,
Curt Wiese, has announced that
Chase Vogler has been promoted to Associate Head Coach. Vogler has been with the staff since 2019 as an offensive coordinator.
Last season, Vogler's rushing offense ranked just outside the top ten at 12th in all of the NCAA. He also oversaw 2024 All-American selections, graduate student tight end
Sam Pitz (Don Hansen NCAA DII All-American Honorable Mention and AFCA DII First Team All-American) and sixth-year offensive linemen
Aiden Williams(Don Hansen NCAA DII All-American Honorable Mention), who both inked NFL free agent contracts after the season.
His offense earned four All-NSIC First Team selections (offensive lineman Williams, redshirt junior wide receiver
DaShaun Ames, tight end Pitz, and quarterback Walljasper) with one Second Team selection (graduate student offensive lineman
Liam Fahey)
In earlier seasons, his offense added top performances in the NCAA, most notably, Vogler's rushing offense ranked sixth in 2023 as he coached quarterback
Kyle Walljasper to his best season yet (1,078 rushing yards). In the same year, the offense earned 11th in fourth down conversions (.636), 13th in third down conversions (.479), and saw two All-American honorable mentions (Pitz and Treyvon Cahalan).
The native of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., began his career at UMD first as a quarterback. He led the Bulldogs to one NCAA Division II national championship (2010), four NSIC titles (2009-12), and four NCAA II playoff appearances (2009-12). Â He currently still holds first all-time among Bulldogs in pass completion percentage (63.2 percent), third in total offense (10,486 yards), fourth in passing yards (7,583), and eighth in rushing yards (2,903). All of this earned him All-NSIC honors three times and a Beyond Sports Network All-American honorable mention.
Vogler officially coaches the Bulldogs as Associate Head Coach tomorrow against Concordia University St. Paul.
