The University of Minnesota Duluth soccer team stayed unbeaten on the young 2025 season Sunday, picking up a 0-0 tie in Marquette, Mich. against Northern Michigan University.


Senior goaltender Kaycee Chavez ran her shutout streak to 180 minutes -- the longest of her Bulldog career -- and the longest Bulldog shutout streak since the 2023 season. Chavez had four saves, while her counterpart in the Wildcat net, Jillian Thompson, made three stops.


NMU had the slight advantage of 4-to-3 shots on goal and 6-to-5 overall, while the Bulldogs had a 4-2 corner kick advantage. UMD was called for 11 infractions compared to the four of the Wildcats.


The Bulldogs will return to James S. Malosky stadium this Friday night to face Bemidji State University in non-conference action. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.


BULLDOG NOTES: UMD is now 17-8-4 all-time against Northern Michigan ... the Bulldogs current shutout streak is its longest since it rolled three-straight shutouts over the 2023 season from Sept. 17 through Sept. 24.
