Gascon Named HCA National Goalie of the Month for October

Despite currently on Team Canada duty for the 2026 IIHF Women's World Championship, University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey goaltender Ève Gascon was named the Hockey Commissioners Association Goaltender of the Month just days after being named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Goaltender of the Month for October.

Gascon, who is one of three goaltenders that earned the award this month, led the WCHA with a .970 saves percentage and had the lowest goals against average (0.66), as well as recorded two shutouts in just three games played. A senior, Gascon owned a perfect record in the month of 3-0-0 and had 64 games. Against Bemidji State University on Oct. 17, Gascon became UMD's all-time career shutout leader and currently holds 25 shutouts as a Bulldog.

The native of Mascouche, Quebec currently leads the NCAA with four shutouts and mind-bending .982 saves percentage, and has already earned two WCHA Goaltender of the Week honors this season despite traveling back and forth due to Canada camps.

This is Gascon's second HCA Goaltender of the Month honor after earning the award last February.

Gascon and Team Canada will began play today in the tournament that runs November 6 to November 16, 2026 in Herning and Esbjerg, Denmark.
