The University of Minnesota Duluth baseball team will jump back into Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play a little earlier then originally planned when the face Wayne State College at the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex in Wayne, Neb. Thursday and Friday. The pair of doubleheaders gets underway tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., and 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

THE SERIES: Over the past 10 seasons, UMD owns an overall record of 10-19 against the Wildcats. The Bulldogs are 2-8 in their last 10 matchups, and on the road, since 2009, UMD is just 5-18Â against WSC.

Last season, the Bulldogs went 1-4 against the Wildcats, which included 9-8 loss in the First Round of the NSIC Tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D. in extra innings. UMD scored four runs in the top of the eighth and added one in the ninth before WSC walked off with an RBI single to win UMD's opening game of the tournament.

The Wildcats have already played 11 games where they are currently 6-5 and 1-2 in league play. WSC split two doubleheaders (8-6, 7-8, 5-11, 13-4) with St. Cloud State University last weekend in Joplin, MO, the first NSIC action for the Wildcats this season.

LAST TIME OUT: The Bulldogs were swept by Augustana University in their opening four games on Feb. 14-15 in Sioux Falls. UMD fell 2-12 and 4-9 on Saturday before suffering 7-12 and 5-10 setbacks the following day. Henry Bushey a team-best five RBIs in the series, and hit a team-high .364.
