The University of Minnesota Duluth baseball team will get its three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games in after all when it travels to Madison, Wis. and Duck Pond at Warner Park to play the University of Minnesota Crookston Friday at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. and Saturday 12:00 p.m.
THE SERIES: The Bulldogs have a slight 18-17 record over the Golden Eagles since the 2013 season, but are just 4-6 in their last 10 showdowns. Last season, UMD went 3-1 against UMC, which included 11-5 win in the NSIC Tournament on May 8, 2025.
Henry Wilkinson got the win in 6.2 innings pitched, while
Zach Kuseske got the save with four strikeouts.
Joey Flom and
Michael Gabbard led the Bulldogs with three hits, while
Nathan Rosenberg had a team-high three RBIs.
LAST TIME OUT: UMD was swept by St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn Tuesday by scores of 9-8 and 18-0.
BULLDOG BATS: Gabe Richardson leads UMD with a .337 batting average on a team-best 35 hits, 11 doubles, four home runs and 27 RBIs. Anthony Hayden is sitting at a .320 average with 31 hits, three home runs and 18 RBIs.
NOTABLE NOTES; Troy Lynch has a season-best 11 reached base streak entering Friday's game ... Lynch and
Gabe Richardson each currently have hitting streaks of five-games ... Anthong Hayden has 10 games with two or more hits this season ... Richardson has nine.
A LOOK AHEAD: UMD will attempt to play its first games in Duluth next Wednesday against Concordia St. Paul. Currently, the games are scheduled for 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., with location to be determined.
