The University of Minnesota Duluth Football Team debuted at No. 12 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Poll. This continues the Bulldogs' run in the AFCA poll since Week 3 of the 2025 Season. The 10-2 Bulldogs finished No. 16 in the AFCA Poll in 2025.

The Bulldogs make their first preseason poll appearance since 2024, when the Bulldogs were ranked No. 17 to start the season. The Bulldogs join NSIC foes Minnesota State, Mankato (No. 3) and Augustana (No. 20) in the poll. Eight Super Region 3 schools in total are ranked in the poll.

The Bulldogs will start the season against RV Slippery Rock on August 27th in Pennsylvania.
