The University of Minnesota Duluth soccer team and St. Cloud State University entered Saturday with a knotted up all-time record, and when the Bulldogs and Huskies finished their heated battle at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud, Minn., the two sides still remained even all-time.
Â
UMD and SCSU settled for a scoreless 0-0 tie in their lone nonconference showdown and the Bulldogs final game out of conference despite the Huskies being a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foe.
Â
UMD had a 11-10 total shots advantage and a 6-3 shots on goal edge, but the Huskies goaltender Jaylee Strickland made all six saves on the six shots she faced. The Bulldogs Edy Halverson had three stops for UMD.
Â
Both teams had four corner kicks apiece while UMD had 15 fouls to SCSU's 11. Midfielder Nora Helvig had a team-high three shots.
Â
The Bulldogs finish up their nonconference schedule 1-1-1 overall and will head to Marshall, Minn. Friday, Sept. 11 to take on Southwest Minnesota State University at Mattke Field at the Schwan Regional Event Center at 3:00 p.m.
