Junior setter Ava Jones and senior middle blocker Paige Decker were named to the Royce Cappis Invitational All-Tournament Team after helping the University of Minnesota Duluth volleyball team post a 3-1 record at the event last weekend at Massari Arena in Pueblo, Colo.

Jones quarterbacked the Bulldogs' offense to a .271 hitting percentage and 14.77 kills per set across four matches, totaling 142 assists while averaging 10.92 assists per set. During UMD's three-match winning streak to close the tournament, Jones averaged 11.56 assists per set while helping the Bulldogs hit .333 and average 15.44 kills per set.

The junior opened the tournament with her first double-double of the season against Fort Lewis, recording 38 assists and 14 digs. She followed with 37 assists against CSU-Pueblo, 35 assists and two service aces against Adelphi and 32 assists against Florida Tech. Jones finished the tournament just 23 assists shy of reaching 2,000 for her career.

Decker was one of UMD's top offensive threats throughout the tournament, hitting .385 while averaging 3.08 kills and 3.54 points per set. The senior committed no more than three attack errors in any match, including just two against both Fort Lewis and Florida Tech. She also led the Bulldogs with 11 total blocks.

Decker opened the tournament with 13 kills on .423 hitting in four sets against Fort Lewis before recording 14 kills against CSU-Pueblo. Against the host ThunderWolves, she hit .478 and added four total blocks. She followed with six kills and three block assists in the sweep of Adelphi before closing the tournament with seven kills and two block assists against Florida Tech.

The Bulldogs open NSIC play Friday, Sept. 11, at the University of Mary at 6 p.m. before traveling to Minot State Saturday, Sept. 12, for a 2 p.m. conference match.
