AS A BULLDOG: Wasted little time in making himself at home in his new hockey surroundings last winter and evolved into a true up-and-comer in the Bulldog program ... concluded 2011-12 with six goals and seven assists for 13 points ... inflicted a good  chunk of his offensive damage as a rookie at AMSOIL Arena (nine points in 17 outings) ... that included a two-point effort in his second collegiate game ever -- and Western Collegiate Hockey Association debut (versus Minnesota on Oct. 14, 2011) .. missed two games last season while nursing an upper body injury and two others as a healthy scratch ...  scored the game’s first goal on three occasions  in 2011-12 -- only three-time All-American Jack Connolly did that with more regularity (four times).

BEFORE UMD: Took the frequently-used United States Hockey League route to UMD, spending one year (2010-11) in Omaha, Neb., with the Lancers ... debuted in style that season, scoring two times on opening night and wound up with seven goals and 16 assists on the year ... was a +8 in 57 regular season games ... scripted an impressive resume as a three-time letterwinner at St. Thomas Academy ... helped lead the Cadets to the 2007-08 Minnesota State High School Class A Championship … placed first among Cadets in scoring as a senior en route to corralling All-Classic Suburban Conference acclaim for the second successive winter … was a two-time Associated Press All-State honorable mention pick as well ... captained St. Thomas Academy during his farewell season. 

PERSONAL: Born Justin Alan Crandall on April 5, 1992 in Burnsville, Minn. … is the son of Jeff and Lori Crandall … his older brother, Aaron, is a junior Bulldog goaltender … is majoring in business at UMD. BULLDOG MILESTONES: First Game - vs. Notre Dame (Oct. 8, 2011). First Goal - vs. Minnesota (Oct. 14, 2011). First Assist - vs Minnesota (Oct. 14, 2011). Most Goals, Game - 1 (6 Times). Most Points, Game - 2 vs. Minnesota State-Mankato (Nov. 19, 2011) and vs. Minnesota (Oct. 14, 2011). Longest Scoring Streak - 2 Games (Feb. 18, 2012-Feb. 24, 2012) and (Oct. 14, 2011- Oct. 15, 2011).
