AS A BULLDOG: Will have to contend with a legion of defensive secondary holdovers in his quest for extended field work this fall ... began his Bulldog career as a wide receiver and went without a pass reception two year ago ... was redshirted as a first-year freshman in 2010. BEFORE UMD: Shifted his game into overdrive in 2009 at Escanaba High School and concluded the year with the Great Northern Conference's Offensive Player of the Year award in his possession ... was also an all-state honoree as a senior in addition to being chosen the St. Ignace News U.P. Offensive Player of Year for Class A-C schools ... caught 23 passes for 638 yards -- a whopping 27.7 yards per catch -- and six touchdowns as a senior .... landed All-Great Northern Conference recognition his last two prep seasons... established team single-game, single-season and career records for touchdowns and points and career marks for interceptions and pass receptions ... started for four years at both wide receiver and defensive back for the Eskymos and was coached by Dan Flynn ... was a four-year starter in basketball (guard/forward) and track (sprinter/high jump) as wlell ... his older sister, Amanda, completed her four-year softball career at UMD in 2009.
