2014-15 (Junior) Started all 30 games in his debut season with the Bulldogs, scoring double-digit points in 18 games and fewer than five points just three times • scored a season-high 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting against Michigan  Tech on Nov. 22 •  scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds as UMD upset No. 14 MSU-Moorhead 60-58 on Dec. 3 • grabbed 16 boards and 10 points against Winona State in the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament on Feb. 25 • dished four assists, tied for his season-high to go with 11 points and six boards as the team fell to No. 2 Augustana (S.D.) in the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament on March 1.

BEFORE UMD: Played last season at Phoenix (Junior) College, where he won an NJCAA National Championship and was named an All-Region Division II Second Team selection • a 2011 graduate of Tolleson Union High School • played four seasons for coach Roger Lefebvre and the Wolverines • named Desert West Region Player of the Year in 2010-11, a First Team All-Region selection in his junior year, and an honorable mention in his freshman and sophomore seasons • led Tolleson to a Regional Championship in his senior and freshman campaigns • served as team captain his junior and senior seasons • also played end for the Wolverines football team, where he was a Second Team All-Region selection and participated in track & field, running the 100, 400,  4x400 relay, high jump, and throws • named the Tolleson Student Athlete of the Year in 2011.

PERSONAL: Born Brendon Edward Pineda-Morales on Nov. 30, 1992 in Los Angeles, California • son of Wendy Smith and Gabriel Pineda • has two brothers, Jeremy Pineda and Michael Smith • finished in the top 3 percent of his graduating class in high school • plans to major in culutural entrepreneurship with a minor in coaching at UMD.
