BULLDOG CAREER:
2017 (Sophomore) Appeared in 13 games, starting a team-high 10 games, while tying a team-high with five wins ... averaged nearly nine strikeouts per nine innings (8.9/K) ... finished with a 1.466 WHIP (walks plus hits per innings pitched) ... pitched a career-high seven innings by striking out nine batters and allowing one hit and zero runs against Concordia-St. Paul on April 19. 
2016 (Freshman) Toed the rubber in 11 games out of the UMD bullpen, allowing earned runs in just two appearances · struck out two in his collegiate debut in the Bulldogs' 18-9 victory at Pittsburg State on Feb. 20 · tossed 2.0 innings, allowing just one hit in UMD's 9-8 victory against Walsh (Ohio) on Mar. 10 · struck out two in 2.0 innings during the Bulldogs' 12-5 victory over Minot State on May 1 · tossed 0.2 innings with one strikeout against Concordia-St. Paul in the NSIC Tournament on May 14.

BEFORE UMD: A 2015 graduate of Virginia High School · started four seasons as a pitcher, outfielder, and first baseman · played on the 2014 Virginia team that reached the State semifinals · also earned All-Iron Range Conference honors in basketball during his senior campaign.
PERSONAL: Born Ryan Patrick Cunningham in Duluth, Minn. · son of Tonja and Patrick Cunningham · has one sister, Morgan, who attends UMD · father played football collegiately at the University of North Dakota and Northern Michigan University · majoring in business at UMD.
