AS A BULLDOG: Reigned as UMD's top scoring rookie last winter ... concluded the year with six goals and 12 assists while hitting the ice in 39 of 40 engagements ... helped set up a pair of scores in the Bulldogs' 4-2 win over North Dakota in the NCHC Frozen Four semifinals for the first -- and only -- multi-point evening of his young collegiate career ... worked alongside center Dominic Toninato and left winger Alex Iafallo for the final quarter of the season ... put more shots on target (95) than all but three NCHC freshmen ... spread his 18 points almost equally between home (10) and away (eight) contests ... was an NCHC All-Academic Team qualifier ... participated in the Chicago Blackhawks Prospect Camp this past July ... wore No. 25 as a Bulldog newcomer.
BEFORE UMD: Concluded his second year of United States Hockey League competition in style two winters ago by generating the league's second-highest regular season point total (31 goals and 40 assists) on his way to attaining All-USHL first team distinction ... skated in all but one of 60 regular season games for the 2014-15 Musketeers and ranked third in the USHL in both plus-minus rating (+25) and game-winning goals (seven) ... was a teammate of fellow incoming UMD sophomore Neal Pionk during his two full seasons in Sioux City ... racked up 46 points -- including 15 goals -- in 56 regular season outings to place fourth on the 2013-14 Sioux City scoring charts, a list that was headed by current UMD junior center Jared Thomas ... starred for four high school winters with Hibbing/Chisholm and in 2012-13 was a finalist for 2012-13 Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award ... handled the Bluejackets' team captaincy role as both a junior and a senior ... was a two-time All-Iron Range Conference selection and a 2013 Associated Press All-State honorable mention honoree ... also lettered six times in tennis at Hibbing High School and qualified for the Minnesota State Class A Tournament on two occasions.
