Biography

BULLDOG CAREER:
2018 (Junior)
 Blossomed into the starting gig after two years as a reserve with 336 kills and 65 blocks as a right side hitter • named to the All-NSIC Second Team • second on the team in kills and third on the team in blocks • one of three Bulldogs to average at least 3.00 kills per set • registered the third best hitting clip on the team, thumping home kills with a .292 hitting percentage • slammed a career best 21 kills in the match versus MSU Moorhead on Sept. 21 • followed up with 18 kills and a personal best seven blocks against Northern State the next night • showed up in the postseason spotlight collecting 20 kills against Upper Iowa in the NSIC Tournament Quarterfinals and 13 kills in the NSIC Championship against Southwest Minnesota State • posted 14 matches with double-digit kills • started in 31 of the 34 matches and played in 112 of the possible 116 sets • named to the NSIC All-Academic Team.

2017 (Sophomore) An asset coming off the bench to provide UMD with a spark-plug attacker in 29 matches • notched 48 kills on the season including a career high seven kills on 19 attacks at Michigan Tech on Sept. 9 • thumped home six kills against top-ranked Southwest Minnesota State in a sweep on Nov. 3 • hit an effective .625 (5-for-8) in the NCAA Quarterfinal match versus Northern State • recorded her first collegiate dig against Lake Superior State on Sept. 8 • also tallied a personal high three digs in that match • totaled 10 block assists on the season in her reserve role.

2016 (Freshman) Gained valuable experience learning behind a group of veteran attackers, playing sparingly in three matches her first collegiate season • picked up her first kill in a victory over MSU Moorhead • saw her most work in that match against the Dragons, attacking three times in her one set of action.

BEFORE UMD: A 2016 graduate of Tomahawk High School • played four seasons for head coach Paul Zierten and the Hatchets • named Third Team All-Wisconsin in 2014 and an Honorable Mention in 2015 • voted First Team All-Great Northern Conference in her senior season and second team in 2012, 2013, and 2014 • earned All-Wisconsin State Tournament Team selection as state runners-up in 2014 • named AVCA's Athlete of the Week for Wisconsin in 2015 • led the GNC in kills and service aces in her senior season • named to MaxPreps 2012 Volleyball Underclassman All-America Team • played club volleyball for Wisconsin Ice, making an appearance at AAU Nationals in 2015 • also participated in track & field as a sprinter and jumper, qualifying for state six times.

PERSONAL: Born Hanna Rose Meyer in Wausau, Wis. • daughter of Jackie and Bill Meyer • has one sister, Billie • while at Tomahawk H.S., participated in Varsity Club, science club, and went on mission trips for her church • majoring in psychology at UMD.
