BULLDOG CAREER:
2017 (Junior) Continued to be one of the most dynamic, all-around outside hitters for the Bulldogs • was one of three Bulldogs to start all 33 matches and play in all 119 sets • earned All-NSIC second team honors for a second consecutive season • became the program's second player to land a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-American (third) team • compiled 379 kills (3.18 per set), which was second among UMD attackers • piled up 355 digs (2.98 per set) on the defensive end as well, second most among Bulldogs • garnered 43 aces (the most from the service line since 2011), which was 72nd in the nation • shined in the season finale, posting collegiate highs in kills (27) and digs (24) versus Wayne State • led all teammates with 13 double-doubles • selected to the All-Academic Team.

2016 (Sophomore) Made an immediate impact with her new team, appearing in all 30 matches and 108 sets with the Bulldogs • earned All-NSIC second team honors • quickly became a primary attacker for UMD, leading the team in total attacks (1,062) • racked up 342 kills (3.17 per set), ranking first among Bulldog attackers • showed her versatility by recording 273 digs (2.53 per set), good for third on the team • accumulated a double-double on 10 occasions • downed a collegiate-high 22 kills against Wayne State (Neb.) in the NSIC Tournament • selected to NSIC All-Academic Team.

Transferred to UMD following a season at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (NCAA I) and was eligible to play immediately in 2016.

BEFORE UMD:
2015 (Freshman) Made her collegiate debut for the University of Maryland-Baltimore Country leading the Retrievers in kills with 265, an average of 3.08 per game • finished second at UMBC with 183 digs • recorded seven double-doubles • knocked back a season-high 20 kills against Loyola (Maryland) on Aug. 29 • named All-America East Conference Second Team, All-Rookie Team and America East Rookie of the Year.

A 2015 graduate of Appleton East High School • voted second team All-State by Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association (WVCA) • earned First Team All-Conference twice and Honorable Mention once • received Player of the Year honors in her senior campaign while finishing her career with over 1,000 career kills • served as captain during her junior and senior seasons • also played soccer at an all-conference level for the Patriots.

PERSONAL: Born Makenzie Bertram Morgen in Appleton, Wis. • daughter of Paula and Mike Morgen • has an older brother, Bradley • while at Appleton East, had a 4.00 GPA and served on the National Honor Society • majoring in biochemistry and psychology at UMD.
