AS A BULLDOG:
2020-21: Saw action in all games (28) in a year where there was no intraconference action... dished seven assists (career high) on the season... finished the year with seven points (career high)... was a +6 on the season... took a career high 42 shots... had eight penalties for a total of 16 minutes on the year... was named to the NCHC All-Academic team for the fourth year in a row.
2019-20: Played in every game (34) in the shortened season last season... dished out two assists on the season, one coming against Denever and the other coming against Omaha... took 36 shots on the season... committed 12 penalties on the year... Named to the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team during his third season.
2018-19: Continued his progression as highly-reliable entity on the UMD blueline ... skated in all 42 games and  was paired with fellow sophomore Louie Roehl in all but two of those outings ... picked up six points -- all assists -- on the year, striking against six different clubs  ... received a NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete citation for the second consecutive season.
2017-18: Proved to be valuable and promising addition to the youthful Bulldog defensemen brigade ... took plenty of shifts during his first collegiate go-around -- especially down the stretch ... played in 35 of the team’s 44 games and came away with six points ... that included one goal (on the power play at St. Cloud State on Nov. 3) and five assists ... also finished the year a nifty +10 ... was one of four 2017-18 Bulldogs to qualify as a NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete ... wore No. 21 as a freshman.
BEFORE UMD: Enjoyed a lengthy and prosperous puck career at Holy Family Catholic High School .... joined forces with the Fire varsity as an eighth grader ... was a two-time Associated Press All-State honoree (second team in 2016-17 and third team one year earlier) and a Top Ten Finalist for the 2016-17 Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award ... also earned Minneapolis Star-Tribune All-Metro acclaim on two occasions (2016-17 and 2015-16) ... paced all Fire defensemen in scoring in each of his final three prep seasons, including a 39-point (10 goals and 29 assists) junior year ... captained Holy Family Catholic High School to its first-ever section title game as a senior ... worked on the back end with the United States Hockey League's Green Bay Gamblers for 16 games in 2016-17.

PERSONAL: Born Matt Adrian Anderson in Shakopee, Minn. ... is the son of Craig and Tammy Anderson ... has one older sister (Hannah) ... is majoring in entrepreneurship at UMD.
