BULLDOG CAREER
2014-15 Outlook: Ervin returns from a medical redshirt season in which he was named NSIC North Preseason Player of the Year before a preseason knee injury sidelined him throughout 2013-14.

2012-13 (Junior):  Started 25 of 26 games for UMD • 2013 All-NSIC Second Team Selection • finished sixth in the NSIC in scoring with a 16.2 points per game average • his .466 shooting percentage from beyond the arc was tops in the NSIC • was UMD’s leading scorer in nine games • tied his career-best scoring output  with 27 points vs. Concordia-St. Paul on Jan. 18 • posted 20-plus points in ten of 26 games played • earned a double-double with 15 points and a career-high 13 boards in the Bulldogs’ 71-69 win against Mary on Jan. 5.

2011-12 (Sophomore): Backed up a stellar rookie campaign by starting 26 of 27 contests and posting an average of 13.1 points per game as one of three Bulldogs to score in double figures on the year • carried an average of 4.3 rebounds per game while playing an even 25 minutes a game • frequently battled in the paint against the opponent’s best post player, causing him to rack up a team-high 70 personal fouls • shot an efficient 53 percent from the field and hit on 70 percent (78 of 111) of his free throw attempts • reached double figures in scoring 18 times and broke the 20-point barrier on four occasions • recorded a season-high 26 points Feb. 4 against Bemidji State • saved his most efficient shooting day of the season for the quarterfinal round of the NSIC Tournament when he knocked down 9-of-11 field goals (and 7-of-9 free throws) in a 99-92 loss to Southwest Minnesota State.

2010-11 (Freshman): Showed vast improvement throughout the season • became a starter after coming off the bench earlier in the year • was the most effective interior player for the Bulldogs last season, registering 10.5 points per game • snared 4.3 rebounds per contest, good for second most on the squad • recorded one double-double in his inaugural collegiate season with 20 points and 10 rebounds against Bemidji State • received All-NSIC acclaim as conference Freshman of the Year after being called up from bench duty to the starting five for the Bulldogs at St. Cloud State Jan. 15.

BEFORE UMD: Graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 2010 • started three years of varsity for the Eagles, who won the Lake conference title each season • a three time All-Lake Conference selection • chosen as Conference MVP his senior year after averaging 17 points and six rebounds per contest • a third-team All-Metro selection, he captained Eden Prairie to a fourth place finish in the state tournament • was a two-time All-Lake Conference football player and won a state title in 2008.

PERSONAL: Born Brett Kiley Ervin on Aug. 11, 1991, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota • son of Brad and Kathy Ervin • has two older brothers, Blake and Brady • father played basketball at Southwest Minnesota State • majoring in communication at UMD.
