Head coach Jim Boos has been at the helm of the Bulldogs for each of their 20 top American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II rankings. UMD cracked the No. 1 spot for the first time in program history in 2002 when it held the top distinction for three weeks. UMD has secured a spot in the AVCA Top-25 rankings every week from Sept. 10, 2002 to Oct. 4, 2021. The Bulldogs have held on to the top billing for four consecutive weeks accomplishing that feat twice in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
