BEFORE UMD: Captained Mankato West High School to a second straight Minnesota State Class AAAAA playoff appearance in 2012 ... started three seasons for  head coach Mark Esch and the Scarlets … was an All-Big Nine Conference choice as a senior and received all-city acclaim for the second straight time as well ... equaled a program record for receptions in a single game with 10 during his junior year …  is the son of Mark Knutson and Kim Weise.
