2022: Wattermann started in 49 games for the Bulldogs as their everyday shortstop. He tallied 50 hits, with 1 home run, 2 triples and 13 doubles on the season. He tallied a .294 average, .412 slugging percentage, and a .392 on base percentage on the season. He also drove in 24 runs and scored 28 of his own. Wattermann also made 11 appearances on the mound, where he was very effective on the season. He tallied 15.1 innings pitched with 17 strikeouts. He had a 3.52 ERA on the season, and tallied 8 saves on the season. He was named Second Team All-Conference for Relief Pitcher after he was second in the conference in saves. 

2021: Started in 38 of 39 games during the 2021 campaign. Hit .279 from behind the dish with a .393 slugging percentage and a .366 on-base percentage. Worked 14 base on balls, scored 22 runs and knocked in 24 RBI's. Made six pitching appearances during the 2021 season an even split with three starts and three relief appearances. Carried a record of 2-2 and notched one save. Recorded 16.1 innings pitched with 15 strikeouts and holding opponents to a .246 average against him. 

2020: Started in all eight games he played in, in the shortened 2020 season. Batted .250 with an on-base percentage of .379. Drove in three runs, worked three walks, notched six hits and socred six runs. 


BEFORE UMD: Is a 2019 graduate of Prior Lake High School ... started one year for the Lakers and served as a team captain in 2019 ... attained South Suburban All-Conference Honors in 2018 ... also played basketball for the Lakers.
PERSONAL: Born Alex Gregory Wattermann in Savage, Minn. ... is the son of Sally and Lyle Wattermann (played baseball at Luther College) ... has an older sister (Christine) and a younger brother (Ryan) ... planning to major in business at UMD.
