AS A BULLDOG: 
2019: Started nine games for UMD while appearing in 14 over the season ... hit .257 on the year ... slugged .371 and had an on-base percentage of .350 ... went 2-2 in the stolen base category ... had nine hits ... grabbed five runs batted in and scored six times.
2018: Voted UMD's Most Improved Player ... split time between the outfield and the designation position in 31 games ... received a career-high 22 starts ... maintained the second highest slugging percentage on the team (.426) ... went 4-for-4 against with three RBI against visiting St. Cloud State on April 11, eqaulling a UMD 2018 single-game high for hits ... tied for second among Bulldogs in home runs (three) and also had the team's second-highest average with runners on scoring position (.385) ... qualified for the NSIC All-Academic Team.
2017: Ranked third among freshmen in appearances with 30, behind only Chase Thomas (42) and Drew Stewart (52) ... collected four hits which included a triple against Bemidji State on March 23 ... successfully stole his one an only stolen-base attempt, against Upper Iowa on March 20.
BEFORE UMD: Is a 2016 graduate of Waterford Union High School ... played four seasons including three in a starting role for the Wolverines ... served as team captain during his senior season ... earned All-Southern Lakes Conference first team honors as a junior as well as All-Country and All-Area acclaim  ... also was an all-conference basketball forward in addition to playing two seasons of football as a wide receiver and defensive back.
PERSONAL: Born Christopher Scott Saltzmann in Waterford, Wis. ... is the son of Kimberly and Scott Saltzmann ... has one sibling (Morgan) ... is majoring in finance at UMD.
