BULLDOG CAREER:
2018: Arguably his best season for the Bulldogs starting 35 games at second, third base and shortstop ... appeared 110 times at the plate slapping 28 hits ... recorded his first career triple on March 28 against Mary ... involved on eight double plays, most among middle infielders ... batted in 24 runs, second most on the team behind Tyler Midas ... doubled his previous two years hit total (28) ... went four-for-six with bases loaded ... his best game came on March against Tiffin, going four-for-three. knocking in three runs. 
2017: Made 23 starts in 34 appearances in his second year at UMD ... notched three multi-hit games throughout the season, and hit .200 on the year ... was a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts ... had arguably his best weekend against Upper Iowa on March 19 and 20 (appeared in three games) where he went 5-10 with a double, five RBI, three runs, three walks, and seven putouts. 
2016: Served as the Bulldogs' top utility man in 32 games including 10 starts in the outfielder and at designated hitter ... began his collegiate career with a single and two walks, scoring two runs against Pittsburg State on Feb. 20 ... started in the outfield for the first time in his career against Walsh on March 10, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored ... hit a pinch-hit grand slam for his first collegiate homer against Concordia-St. Paul on April 16 ... drove in three runs on a 2-for-2 day against U-Mary on May 6.
BEFORE UMD: A 2015 graduate of Ashland High School ... played all over the field, including shortstop, catcher, and pitching for the Oredockers during his prep career ... two-year team captain his junior and senior campaigns, earning First Team All-Lake Superior Conference honors in 2014 and 2015 ... voted team MVP his senior season and selected to the West Senior All-Star Team in the state of Wisconsin ... also served as captain for Ashland's hockey and football teams, earning all-conference honors as a two-way player in football his senior year (first team linebacker and honorable mention quarterback).
PERSONAL: Born Eric John Yachinich in Ashland, Wis. ... son of Deborah and Jerry Yachinich ... has one sister, Emily ... participated in National Honor Society during his junior and senior years at Ashland H.S. ... Majoring in business at UMD.
