2017 (Junior) Bolstered his career statistics by having his best year on the mound as a Bulldogs ... appeared in 14 games, starting one, racking up a career-high 19.1 innings pitched ... held opponents to 2.64 batting average, and a 2.79 earned runs average ... allowed just one earned run over final 9.1 innings pitched after giving up five in his first 10 innings.
2016 (Sophomore) Took the mound in 10 games, tossing 6.2 innings out of the UMD bullpen · tossed a hitless inning, striking out one against Winona State on April 4 · worked a shutout inning in UMD's 16-8 victory over Southwest Minnesota State on April 13 · struck out two batters despite allowing a run on one hit in UMD's 10-1 victory over Sioux Falls in the NSIC Tournament on May 12 · NSIC All-Academic Team.
2015 (Freshman) Tossed 4.0 innings spanning six appearances out of the bullpen in his debut season · picked up his first collegiate strikeout in 1.0 inning against St. Michael's (Vt.) College on Mar. 17 · tossed a scoreless inning, striking out one and allowing one hit against Minot State on May 1.

BEFORE UMD: A 2014 graduate of Staples-Motley High School · started four seasons as a pitcher, first baseman, and outfielder for coach John Riewer and the Cardinals · received All-Conference honors in each of his first three seasons at Staples-Motley · named MVP as a sophomore and junior · earned an All-Mid State Conference Championship in 2013 · also a four-year letterwinner in basketball, where he earned All-Conference honors as a guard, and a two-year letterwinner at quarterback and safety.
PERSONAL: Born Jalen Paul Busker in St. Cloud, Minnesota · son of Sheila and Benjamin Busker · has one younger brother, Reid · a member of National Honor Society and class director during his junior and senior years at Staples-Motley · off the diamond, enjoys the outdoors, including hunting and fishing · plans to major in accounting at UMD.
