2015 (Freshman) Tossed 12.1 innings out of the bullpen over 15 appearances · made his collegiate debut, throwing 2.0 innings against Northwood (Mich.) on Mar. 14 · tossed a hitless inning at Sioux Falls on Mar. 20 · threw 1.1 shutout innings in the series against No. 2 Minnesota State on Apr 3-4 · gave the Bulldogs a shutout inning against Northern State in the NSIC/US Bank Tournament on May 8.

BEFORE UMD A 2014 graduate of ROCORI High School · lettered four years on the left side of the infield and on the mound for coach Jeff Illies and the Spartans · served as team captain in his senior season · helped lead ROCORI to a second-place finish at the Minnesota State High School League tournament.

PERSONAL Born Justin Joseph Kunkel on Nov. 17, 1995 in St. Cloud, Minnesota · son of Linda and Robert Kunkel · has two younger siblings, Hannah and Mitchell · a member of National Honor Society at ROCORI H.S. · off the diamond, enjoys the outdoors, including hunting and fishing, and business · majoring in accounting at UMD.
