Dietrich pitched for the Eau Claire Express of the Northwoods League in the summer of 2018, making eight starts

AS A BULLDOG:
2019: Made nine appearances for the Bulldogs (all starts) and won a team high three games ... recorded a team best 3.56 earned run average among starters ... was second on the team with 26 strikeouts and gave up only six walks while pitching in 48.0 innings (lead the team).
2018: Made 10 appearances (seven in a starting role) and went 2-4 ... recorded 21 strikeouts, the fourth highest total on the team ... picked up  his first win of the season on March 23 against Wayne State, recording 5.2 innings, four strikeouts, and one extra base hit ... NSIC All-Academic Team qualifier.
2017: Appeared in 12 games, starting nine ... was a nice option for UMD on the mound as he worked to the tune of a 2.80 ERA (the third best figure among Bulldogs) ... struck out 46 batters while walking only eight in 54.2 innings of work ... threw for a season-high nine strikeouts in a 6.0 inning outing against Upper Iowa.
BEFORE UMD: Is 2016 graduate of Barron High School (WI) - started four seasons for coach Jon Lantz and the Golden Bears as a left-handed pitcher, first baseman, and outfielder ... earned All-Heart O’North first team honors as a pitcher in 2016, 2015 and second team recognition in 2013 and 2014 ... was named the WBCA Northwest District Player of the Year in 2016 ... set career records for Barron High School in three sports -- baseball, basketball and soccer ... is the Golden Bears all-time leader in ERA, strikeouts and shut outs in baseball and in scoring and rebounding in basketballl and also set the program single-season goals against average record in soccer (as a senior) ... was a three-time All-Heart O’North first team basketball honoree and second team All-Heart O’North in football (sophomore and junior) ...  graduated with high honors from Barron High School and was a member of the National Honor Society,  Positive Attitudes for Life (PAL), Student Senate (president).
