BEFORE UMD: DeMars played for Edina High School under head coach Jon Bryant. He is listed as the No. 50 ranked prospect in the Minnesota 2025 class by Prep Hoops Minnesota. He averaged 11.5 points, 4.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game as a junior, helping his team to a 16-12 overall record. DeMars played travel AAU basketball with the Real Phenom basketball club.
