2023-24 (Senior): 
  • 2024 NCAA Tournament Team member
  • NSIC Defensive Player of the Year
  • NSIC All-Conference First Team
  • NSIC All-Tournament team
  • Started in all 33 games and averaged 28.1 minutes per game
  • Scored 424 points with a 53.5% field goal average
  • Collected 61 assists, 15 blocks, and 33 steals
2022-23 (Junior): 
  • 2023 NCAA Elite Eight team member
  • Earned collegiate all-conference honors with an All-NSIC Second Team selection
  • Started in all 36 games
  • Led the team in boards with 218, and second-highest total points (445) on the team
2021-22 (Sophomore):
  • Started all 31 games
  • Shooting percentage increased to 53.5% and his three-point percentage increased to 31.9%
  • Tallied a career-high of 28 points early in the season against Concordia St. Paul. 
2020-21 (Freshman):
  • NSIC Player of the Week (only UMD player named that season)
  • Started all 13 games and averaged 29.5 minutes per game
  • Shot a 46.2% from the field and averaged 13.6 points per game (3rd on the UMD roster)
  • Second on the Bulldogs in rebounds (5.8 per game) and in steals (1.3 per game)
  • Averaged 18.6 points per game in the final three weekend series of the season
  • Recorded one double-double on the season (2/19) at St. Cloud State
BEFORE UMD: Katona comes to UMD after playing for Shakopee High School and serving as captain for three consecutive years. He averaged 19.5 points per game on top of 8.1 rebounds, on his way to earning first team all-conference distinction. He as well played for the Minnesota Fury AAU Club during the 2019 summer. He was ranked as the No. 16 prospect in the 2020 Minnesota class by Prep Hoops Minnesota.

PERSONAL: Katona is the son of Sara abd Attilla Katona... was born in Shakopee, Minn.... is majoring in Business at UMD.
