Jack Herum

Jack Herum took over as the Director of Basketball Operations in the summer of 2018 in his third full season at UMD. Herum first joined the Bulldog bench prior to the 2016-17 season as a graduate assistant coach. Passionate at teaching and growing the game, Herum is in charge of scouting opponents, recruiting, individual developmental workouts, coordinating game plans, and overseeing summer camps. 

Herum brings a host of collegiate playing experience to UMD after graduating from his hometown school - the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2016. With the Falcons, Herum started 51 of 54 games over his two seasons at forward. Herum averaged 6.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game as a senior, guiding UW-River Falls to a 17-11 record on his way to a trip to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship game. Prior to playing with the Falcons, Herum was a member of the 2013-14 NCAA Division III Champion University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Herum, who in his spare time host private clinics for the youth throughout the Northland, graduated with a degree in Exercise Sport Science at UWRF and completed his Masters in Education at UMD in 2018.
