Biography

2023-24 (Senior):
  • 2024 NCAA Tournament Team member
  • Started in all 33 games and averaged 27.2 minutes per game
  • Scored 306 points with a 44.6% field goal average
  • Collected 61 assists, 19 blocks, and 23 steals
2022-23 (Junior):
  • Shjon Podein Award Winner
  • 2023 NCAA Elite Eight team member
  • Reached the 1,000 career point mark during the NCAA Tournament
  • Started in 22 games and played in all 33 games for the Bulldogs
  • Third on the team in points (384) and in rebounds (186)
  • Fourth on the team for blocks (15) and steals (26)
2021-22 (Sophomore): 
  • Started every game for the Bulldogs
  • Ranked third-leading scorer
  • One of the Bulldogs' best defenders and was tasked with guarding the best guard each game
  • Recorded a career high of 25 points in the conference championship game against MSU Moorhead
  • One of just four players in the NSIC to make more than 70 three-pointers
2020-21 (Freshman):
  • Started in all 13 games and averaged 29.8 minutes per game
  • Shot 44.5% from the field and 38.5% from beyond the arc which ranked 4th in the NSIC
  • Led UMD as he averaged 2.7 three-point field goals per game
  • Averaged 12.2 points per game in his first season
  • Collected 4.6 rebounds per game 
BEFORE UMD: Brown comes to the Bulldogs after playing at Park Center High School. Brown shot an impressive 46% from beyond the arc, making 81 3-pointers as well as averaging 14.8 points per game, helping with him being selected as an MBCA All-star, grabbing All-Conference honors, and a 23-5 record on the season. He was ranked in the low 20's on the Minnesota 2020 Prospect list by Prep Hoops Minnesota and also played for the Minnesota Heat AAU program in the summer of 2019. In his junior year campaign, Joshua was a key component to a 30-2 overall record and a 3rd place finish in the Minnesota AAAA State Tournament.
