BEFORE UMD: Katona earned several accolades while playing for Shapokee High School, including First Team All-Conference, First-Team All-Section and All-State Second Team honors. He was also named the Defensive Player of the Year after his junior season.

PERSONAL: Katona is from Shakopee, Minn. He's the son of Sarah and Attilla. He's majoring in engineering. His older brother, Charlie, also plays for the basketball team.
