BEFORE UMD: Got a nice jump start on his inaugural collegiate season by participating in the first-ever CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game this past September in Buffalo, N.Y., an event which featured 40 of the top American prospects eligible for the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft ... sparked his fair share of offensive mayhem around the United States Hockey League in 2011-12  ... produced the highest scoring yield (59 points on 28 goals and 31 assists in 51 regular season games) of any member of the 2011-12  Fargo Force ...  resided among the Top 10 USHL leaders in a boatload of offensive areas including shooting percentage (.277, first),  shorthanded goals (3, tied for fifth), goals (tied for eighth), power play goals (9, tied for eighth) and scoring (tied for 11th) … strutted his stuff for Team West (along with fellow UMD recruit Austyn Young) at the 2012 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game … commenced the opening two months of the 2010-11 season with the Chicago Mission AAA midgets relocating to Fargo, N.D. (where he became teammates with Willie Corrin, another 2012-13 UMD rookie) in late November ... was credited with seven goals and four assists in 33 outings during his USHL debut season ... becomes the fifth Illinois native to enroll with the Bulldog program (joining the likes of current Bulldog senior right winger Mike Seidel).

PERSONAL: Born Austin James Farley on Nov. 10, 1993 (which makes him the youngest 2012-13 Bulldog in Chicago, Ill. ... is the son of Charles Farley and Maureen Gleason ... has six other siblings (Erin, Brian, Sean, Brendan, Gavin, and Dylan) ... graduated from Fargo South High School in 2012 ... is majoring in communication at UMD.
