Cody Chupp joined the Bulldog coaching staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2022-23 season, and will embark on his fourth season behind the bench in 2025-26.
Chupp, who is currently also an assistant coach with the U.S> Under-18 Men's Select Team, was the assistant head coach for the Muskegon Lumberjacks from 2020-2022. Prior to that he was the head coach from 2017-2020 with the Lincoln Stars, where he he owned a record of 70-85-8-7 record in 170 games, including winning seasons in two of his three years (along with one postseason berth in 2017-18). Before the Lincoln Stars, from 2014 to 2017, he was the assistant coach for the Green Bay Gamblers. Current professional players who played under Chupp during his leadership as Lincoln's head coach include Josiah Slavin, Josh Lopina, Shane Pinto, Paul Cotter, Wyatt Aamodt, and Declan Carlile.
His successful playing career as a right-handed centerman includes a wide range of teams he saw action on in the NAHL, USHL, AHL, and ECHL. A native to Grand Haven, Michigan he played his NCAA Division I college hockey career at Ferris State University from 2006 to 2010. Chupp served as captain for his junior and senior seasons and alternate captain during his sophomore year. Over the four years, in 144 games, he tallied 95 points. Chupp scored 35 goals and 60 assists.
After his four years, Chupp left Ferris State and joined the AHL's Texas Stars. In 69 games he scored five goals, and 10 assists for a combined 15 points. He spent his last two years of playing with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL and their ECHL affiliate with the Wheeling Nailers.Â
Chupp resides in Duluth with his wife Hailey, and sons, Grayson and Hudson.
