AS A BULLDOG:
2018-19: Continued his progression as a steadying influence and dependable entity on UMD's fourth line ... his junior year stat line included three goals and eight assists in 33 games ... also finished a +8 ... strung together a career-high six point scoring streak (the second longest by any Bulldog all winter) between Feb. 23 and March 15 ... was the recipient of the UMD's Pat Francisco Community Service Award ... earned NCHC All-Academic All-Conference Team honors.
2017-18: Made some significant strides, to say the least, as a sophomore and experienced a breakout year on the offensive side of the rink ... accumulated 13 points on three goals and 10 assists and was a +9 in 38 outings ... centered the team’s fourth line for the most part, but did see some time on the No. 3 unit as well ... reigned as UMD’s top point producer during the month of February 2018 (one goal and five assists for six points) ... scored his first -- and only -- game-winner to date in UMD’s first road win of the 2017-18 season (2-1 over Maine).
2016-17: Wasted little time in making himself feel right at home in a Bulldog uniform ... buried a shot (which turned out to be his lone goal of the year) on opening night against Michigan Tech ... suited up in the first nine games of the season, but was juggled in an out of the UMD lineup (as a fourth line left winger) the rest of the way ... made 22 appearances when all was said and done while going a +2.
BEFORE UMD: His pre-UMD preparation included a successful two-year North American Hockey League run with the Austin Bruins … tied for the 2015-16 NAHL regular season lead in goals with 29 (which was one shy of the Austin single-season record) … his 51 regular season points took a backseat to just one of his teammates … a league-leading 11 of his goals were game winners that winter … captained Austin during his farewell NAHL go-around and was the lone Bruin to take a shift in all 60 regular season games … was selected to the 2015-16 Central Division Top Prospects Team … was credited with 19 points (eight goals and 11 assists) in 47 regular season appearances as a Bruin rookie ... Is a 2014 graduate of Minto High School ... enjoyed a prosperous four-year prep puck career with the Grafton-Park River Spoilers (Minto High School did not sponsor a boy’s hockey team) ... was a North Dakota Mr. Hockey finalist as a senior ... attained All-State and All-East Region honors during each of his final three winters ... paced the Spoilers in points in both 2012-13 and 2013-14 ... took part in two North Dakota High School Tournament title games (2012 and 2014) ... also lettered twice in baseball (shortstop and second base) and twice in golf at Minto High School.

PERSONAL: Born John Donald Miller III in Minto, N.D. ... is the son of John and Dawn Miller ... has five siblings, all brothers -- Josef, Zach (a former North Dakota Mr. Hockey finalist), Christian, Isaac and Blaise ... is majoring in entrepreneurship at UMD
