Biography
AS A BULLDOG:
2019-20: Had another solid year in a Bulldog sweater finishing with 26 points (12 goals and 14 assists)... netted three game winners on the year while also scoring four power play goals and a short handed tally... saw a slight uptick in shots on goal with a total of 140 on the season... finished the season with a +9 rating... committed only two penalties on the season for a total of four minutes... was named to the NCHC All-Academic Team.
2018-19: Assumed a bigger scoring load while shouldering a more prominent role on both the Bulldogs' power play and penalty killing units ... amassed a career-high 15 goals (taking a backseat to Parker Mackay's 16 tallies on the UMD charts) and 25 points -- four more than his rookie year output -- in addition to finishing a +17 (another lifetime best)Â ... was a All-NCHC honorable mention pick and the conference's Player of the Month for January ... collected six goals and two assists in six games over that stretch ... registered the Bulldogs' lone hat trick of the season in a 7-2 home triumph over Omaha on Jan. 25 ... tied for the NCAA lead in overtime goals with three, with the last of those coming in the second sudden death session against St. Cloud State in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff championship ... had two of UMD's three shorthanded goals and also struck once on the power play ... was voted the NCHC Offensive Player of the Week on two occasions (Jan. 21 and Jan. 28) ... ranked second among NCHC skaters and first among Bulldogs in shots (3.42 per night) ... sat out the Western Michigan series in early December due to a lower body injury ... earned NCHC Academic All-Conference Team status.
2017-18: Reigned as the leading point generator among Bulldog freshmen forwards ... concluded his debut UMD season with six goals and 16 assists while going a +11 ... missed nearly a fifth of the season tending to injuries (six games with an upper body injury and another three contests with a lower body ailment) ... struck four times on the power play ... got his collegiate career off to an inspiring start by accumulating seven points in the opening six games ... received NCHC Rookie of the Week honors on two occasions (Oct. 23 and Jan. 29) ... put a team season-high nine shots on goal in the NCAA Frozen Four title game against Notre Dame ... worked out of both the right and left wing positions as a NCAA I newcomer ... was a NCHC Academic All-Conference Team qualifier.
BEFORE UMD: Cranked out plenty of offensive horsepower during two United States Hockey League winters in Waterloo, Iowa ... tied for second place on the 2016-17 Black Hawk scoring charts with 51 points (26 goals and 25 assists) in 47 regular season outings ... secured a spot on the 2016-17 All-USHL second team ... also had a USHL-leading eight game-winning goals to his 2016-17 credit ... twice received USHL Forward of the Week honors during his final year of juniors ... was chosen to the 2016 World Junior A Challenge All-Star Team after helping lead the U.S. Junior Selects to a gold medal at that event in Bonnyville, Alberta ... topped the Black Hawks in regular season goals (30) and points (50) as a USHL newcomer ... spent three rewarding years with the Lakeville South High School varsity (2012-15) ... captained the Cougars and paced them in scoring as a junior before leaving for the USHL the following season ... played for the U.S. and head coach Derek Plante (a Bulldog hockey All-American and former UMD assistant coach) at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup ... was the seventh round selection (209th pick overall) of the Minnesota Wild in the 2017 NHL Draft.
