AS A BULLDOG: Will now add 2015-16 assistant team captain to his UMD hockey resume ... presided at the top of the Bulldogs' scoring leaderboard for the second time in three years last winter, amassing nine goals and a team-leading 21 assists for 30 points ... also paced the 2014-15 Bulldogs in shots (a career-high 118), game-winners (three) and home points (13) ... assembled UMD's longest scoring streak last season -- nine games between Nov. 22 and Jan. 9 ... scored once and assisted on another goal in the Bulldogs' 4-1 triumph over Minnesota in the NCAA I Northeast Regional semifinals on his way to an All-Tournament Team citation ... leads all active UMD players in career assists (55) and points (85) ... hasn't missed a game during the past three seasons (114 in all) -- a claim only one other Bulldog (senior Andy Welinski) can make ... is a two-time NCHC All-Academic Team qualifier ... wound up taking a hit in the points production department two winters ago, but it wasn’t for a lack of effort -- paced all Bulldogs in shots on goal with 117 ... collected seven goals and 14 assists as a sophomore after figuring in on 13 more scores the previous winter ... was credited with a 2013-14 UMD-high three assists in UMD’s 6-3 win at North Dakota on Nov. 16, 2013 ... ended the year in an encouraging fashion, picking up points in four the last five outings ...made quite the splash during his maiden season in a Bulldog unirom ... concluded the year with 34 points (which tied him for the team scoring lead and ranked fourth nationally among freshman) and secured a spot on the Western Collegiate Hockey Association All-Rookie Team for his efforts ... was an integral part of a Bulldog power-play unit which was the fourth most potent in the nation (23.4 percent) ... his seven goals with the man advantage were bettered by only one other NCAA I newcomer (Boston University’s Danny O’Regan with eight) ... accumulated a team-best 16 of his 2012-13 points on the road ... did not go more than three games in a row without marking in the points column as a freshman ... exited the 2012-13 regular season with a bang, pocketing eight points in the final four games.
BEFORE UMD: Spent the 2011-12 season as a rookie on the rise with the United States Hockey League’s Waterloo Blackhawks … racked up 18 goals and 24 assists for 42 points – the third-highest output on the club – in 55 games ... consistently performed well on special teams, topping the Blackhawks in power play markers with six … was key component on a Waterloo outfit that finished second in the USHL playoffs … suited up with the U.S. entry at the World Junior A Challenge in November 2011, where he produced one goal and one assist in five games … was a fifth-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs (130th choice overall) in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft … wrapped up a rewarding three-year playing career at Wayzata High School with a selection to the 2010-11 Associated Press All-State first team in addition to being a finalist for the Mr. Hockey Award … paced the Trojans in points (63) and assists (46) over a 28-game senior season.
